Paying too much for property insurance?

Are you experiencing financial difficulty as a result of skyrocketing insurance costs? Even if you are not, you should be aware that Florida Law (Florida Statute 626.0629) requires insurance companies to offer discounts and credits to homeowners. If you have improvements that strengthen your home and mitigate possible damage and loss from hurricanes, as set out in the law, you are entitled. If your home was built after 1994 (Miami-Dade and Broward) or after 2002 ( Palm Beach County), you will already have at least some wind resistant construction features. A duly certified inspection report is proof of your entitlement to the discount or credit.

Obviously, not all insurance companies give their clients that information.

KRC Home Inspection Company, together with our affiliated state registered Architects, engineers, and our in house My Safe Florida Home certified inspectors offers the following three types of inspections:

1. Roof Mitigation

This inspection evaluates the roof coverings, shape, roof-wall connection devices, secondary water resistance and roof deck attachments, and certifies that the design and location of the structure are sufficient to meet the Florida Building Code (FBC) requirements, (if indeed they are.) Our Fees

2. Hurricane Shutter Certification

Hurricane Shutter Certification is your evidence that all doors and windows are fully protected with storm shutters designed and properly installed to meet the required criteria of the FBC. Our Fees

3. 4-Point Inspection

Insurance companies look to a 4 Point Inspection Report to see that four systems in the home are generally in good working condition and fulfilling their intended function. If the home is an older home, the insurance companies want to see that the systems have been updated. The 4-Point Inspection consists of the following four systems: Roof, Electrical, HVAC (Heat, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) and Plumbing. Our Fees
